Aspen Green Home Construction

Having a “green” home starts in the way that you build it! If you’re truly committed to having a home that is as environmentally friendly as possible, then you need to work with a building company that shares your convictions. Aspen Built Homes is a great choice, as it is one of the leading names in Aspen green home construction. Don’t think, however, that just because your home is built eco-friendly, you don’t still have some work to do to reduce your carbon footprint. In fact, once you become a homeowner, that’s when the work truly starts.

One great, very green thing you can do is to plant a vegetable garden! We know this might seem next to impossible in cold, snowy Aspen, but it’s really not. If you don’t have an outside area amenable to gardening, then create a small indoor garden oasis! Not only will you feel good about successfully planting and growing edible treats, but you also won’t be contributing to inorganic farming or ingesting gross pesticides every time you bite into a carrot!

You should also place a ban on plastic bags in your home!  Take your own bag to the grocery store and, whenever possible, try to buy cleaning products and other household goods in recyclable, preferably non-plastic containers. And, while you’re at it, you might want to think about ditching your energy-guzzling old-school appliances, like that ancient fridge or oven, in favor of greener, more eco-friendly choices. Not only will you be helping the environment, but you’re also likely to see a big drop in your power bill. Remember, Aspen green home construction can only do so much; the rest is up to you!
